Creative Director team Jo Ridley + Alexia Vasilarou enjoy making work that says something worth saying.
Stuff like sending US governors vasectomy appointments to protest Roe V Wade, prompting the UK government to review tampon safety by comparing it to sausages or telling the true story of a baby born on Zoom during covid.
Currently found at Uncommon Creative Studio, their previous experience includes leading eBay for JOAN Creative, Boots for VMLY&R, and working on a variety of campaigns for BT, CeraVe, Coca Cola, Comfort, Dove, EE, Hellmann’s, Heinz, Johnnie Walker, L’Oreal, Mars, Merrell, Unilever, Visa and Waitrose at agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Revolt and Ogilvy.
Jo grew up in East London, went to Central Saint Martins at 17, and has spent the last 17 years in the creative industries. She started out as a promo director for BBC (Fleabag) 4Creative (Skins, Shameless) and ITV before switching to advertising as a copywriter. Outside of work she’s created a podcast about not having kids,curated art for Vans, written poems about parties and trained to be a yoga teacher.
Alexia grew up in Athens, completed her Business Management degree in the University of Surrey before pursuing Graphic Design at Shillington College. She then specialised as a creative in Advertising at Miami Ad School. Her agency experience includes Fallon London, GS&P San Francisco, TBWA Singapore and AMV BBDO for clients including AXA, Skoda, Doritos, Hope For Children and Cadbury. She has lived in places all over the world and plans to travel to the rest of it. Her side projects include work with UK Pride, street photography and helping her girlfriend make crazy installations like a chapel in a church rave and a bedroom in a railway arch.
